Trauma-Focused Change Management
PREPERATORY PHASE
Consultant meets with leaders to obtain information about the school or organizations’; needs, history, current functional deficiencies, any perceived constraints in time, scope, or abilities, and more.
PHASE I
All stakeholders are given a voice to help identify challenges and filter down to core issues, including societal inequity. Psychoeducation regarding trauma and its neurophysiological impacts are provided throughout this and all other phases.
PHASE II
All stakeholders offer reasonable, practical solutions for their unique school community and receive extended ideas for implementation. Intra-organizational co-leaders are identified for each solution area to be addressed. A detailed implementation plan and timeline, with goals and evidence criteria, is collaboratively created for the entire organization. The plan is shared for feedback and revised as necessary.
PHASE III
Plan begins being implemented with support and a means for a feedback and adjustment loop. Support is gradually turned over to the intra-organizational leaders for continuance of the work without coach/ consultant, to support long-term, ongoing change.

“The chasm is vast between applying a few trauma-informed practices versus responding to the deep and pervasive effects of trauma, through the strategic transformation of entire systems that unwittingly maintain structures that cause harm daily.”
